Waves are limited
There are only so many waves at a peak. One surfer’s wave is a wave another surfer didn’t get. So we’ll never chase growth that crams more people into the same water.

Giving way, learning the lineup, and looking after the next person out count for more here than how hard you charge. Everyone starts somewhere, and respect is how you earn your place.
Less screen, more surf
SaltRiders has no endless feed, and it doesn’t nag you with notifications or fake urgency. Check what’s on, then paddle out.
No one should have to

Some sessions you want the water to yourself. Some sessions you don’t. SaltRiders is where you find your people, your lessons, and your gear: one place for everything a surfer needs, first-timer or lifer.
Find your crew
See who’s paddling out near you, request a spot, and never be the only new face in the water. Find sessions by your skill level, vibe, and region. A single tap to say “I’m in.”
Learn from people who look out for you
Book an in-person lesson with a local coach whose credentials a person at SaltRiders has checked, so you paddle out confident and clued-in. Prices are all-in, and the cancellation terms are plain.
Get geared up, safely
Buy, sell, trade or rent boards and wetsuits with payment held until you’ve checked the gear in person. Everything stays on-platform, so the usual resale scams have nowhere to hide.
We protect the waves by keeping breaks private.
Publishing a break brings crowds to it, so we don’t. The map takes you to the region where crews are active, never to an exact spot.
No GPS pins. Discovery shows regions, never individual breaks.
No public heat maps. We never show where the crowds are.
Meetup points stay private. You see the exact meetup point only after a host approves you.
Local veto. If a community asks us to remove their spot, we remove it without asking why.

Respect in the water protects every surfer. One-tap blocking, two-tap reporting, women-only sessions, a code of conduct everyone signs: these are built into how SaltRiders works from the start, and they can’t be switched off.

If a session is women-only, no one else can see it, join it, or message it. The app enforces this for every member.
Block someone in one tap
Once you block someone, they can never see your profile, your posts, or your sessions, and they never appear for you again.
Report in two taps, seen by real people
Report harassment, hazards, snaking, scams, or spot-burning in two taps. Reports go to a real person, and we look at urgent ones within hours.
